October 2010
Terrier fanciers from all over
North and South America converge on Montgomery County, a
rural area outside of Philadelphia on the first weekend in
October each year. Four shows are held, including the
American National Terrier Championships and once every 5
years , Morris and Essex Dog Show, considered the largest
show of its kind, with over 3000 dogs entered this year.
Blythfell Westies was
fortunate to win an number of awards over the four days:

Best of Breed at Morris and Essex, and went First Select at
the Hatboro Show and Montgomery which is the annual
National Speciality for West Highland Terriers
Billy (Blythfell Talisker) won
Winners Dog at the National Speciality.
Chloe (Blythfell Queen Bee)
won her Junior Puppy Class every day. To date, Ben has
now won 12 Best in Shows in 2010, and seems to be enjoying
every minute of his time in the ring. Cloe, at eight
months, just won her first Best Puppy in Show.
Bill, can now claim to be
the only Canadian male to have beaten his half brother Ben
this year! The future looks bright for this boy.
Sep 2010
Summer was another successful show period for
Ben. He has won eight Best in Show awards so far this year,
for a total of eleven BIS in his short career. He also has
won five Reserve Best in Shows in 2010. Zelda,
Daisy's daughter, has begun showing and is only one point
short of her Canadian championship. Chloe, the eight month
old daughter of Bennie and Mila, has just begun her circuit.
We are very proud of Blythfell Talisker (Billy), sired by
Monty and Dora, and owned by John and Lorraine Jardine, who
also finished his Canadian championship this summer.
Congratulations John and Lorraine.
April 2010
April has been a phenomenal month for Ben and he won three
Best in Shows and one Reserve Best in Show here in Ontario.

We had 2 beautiful litters from Daisy and Mila over the
past few months and added new members to our Blythfell
Family page.

Michigan in February where he won a Group 1st at the Livonia
Dog show in Novi.
In March we were in Chicago where he received a group 3rd at
the Chicago International Dog Show. He also won the Westie
Speciality Show of Northern Illinois the same weekend.

has now achieved his American Championship .
December 2009
Ben
finished the year as number eight overall winning terrier in
Canada, and number two puppy all breed. We are very pleased
and proud of this young dog, and of Chrystal for her fine
work.
November 2009
Dog
show competition is heating up in November as all
competitors attempt to improve their standing before year
end. So far, Ben has done well earning a number of group
placements as well as his second Reserve Best in Show.
Amazingly there are three Westies in the top ten Terrier
standings in Canada and, at present, Ben is number eight on
the terrier list. It's still a long way to December 31, so
who knows how it will turn out.
October 2009
The
Hatboro, Devon and Montgomery County Dog Shows are held in
Pennsylvania at the beginning of October. This four
day meet is an enormous gathering of competitors from all
over the USA and elsewhere. Ben and Indie attended with
great success. Ben went Best of Winners all three days
in Hatboro and Devon, to earn eleven of the fifteen points
required to become an American Champion. Indie won a
five point major Best of Winners on the first day of
Hatboro, and is now also on her way to an American
Championship. What a wonderful way to start October.
Again, accolades to Chrystal.
We've
added a page to the Blythfell Family showing photos of our
dogs in their new homes, and how well they are doing. Please
take a look.
Ben's winning streak continued at the London Canine dog
show. He did well during the various shows and was awarded
Reserve Best in Show (RBIS) on Sunday where he
lost to the number one ranked dog in Canada. Thank you
Judge Jim Reynolds, once more.
September 2009
September has been a great month thus far. To date Ben has

Bennie (Blythfell Fergus) has campaigned very
successfully since his start in April. To date he has
won eight Best Puppy in Show awards, and twelve group

of Bennie who is still only eight months old, and
of Chrystal for all her fine grooming and presentation
efforts.
